Health benefits company and the U.S.’s largest Medicare plan provider Humana Inc. ( HUM ) early Monday reported first quarter profits that more than doubled from the same period last year. The Louisville, Kentucky-based company reported fiscal first quarter net income of $205.7 million, or $1.22 per share, up 150% from $80.2 million, or 47 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
