What I’m Reading (in the event you care)
Clockers, by Richard Price. I never saw the Spike Lee movie based on the novel, so the story is new to me (though the book was first published back in the 90’s). I heard Price interviewed on NPR a while back. During the interview, he spoke about Clockers and I was intrigued enough to pick it up. I’m only a quarter or so of the way through. My impressions so far — great use of voice, subtle characterization, stark presentation of inner city life and the subcultures of drug dealers and the cops
